SPRAVATO™ IOP Programming
The Transformation Center now offers a SPRAVATO™ Intensive Outpatient Therapy Program to alleviate your symptoms of depression and restore your quality of life.
SPRAVATO™ is a prescription medicine, used along with an antidepressant taken by mouth, for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in adults.
If you’ve struggled with depression and tried two or more antidepressants in your current episode without adequate relief, schedule an appointment with the Transformation Center to see if you have treatment-resistant depression.
Spravato is self-administered via single-use nasal spray devices and is to be used in combination with oral anti-depressant therapy. The dosing schedule of Spravato is divided into 2 phases: the induction phase (weeks 1-4), and the maintenance phase (weeks 5+):
Weeks 1-4 (Induction Phase: Twice weekly):
SPRAVATO™ is self-administered twice a week during weeks 1-4 in the induction phase at the Transformation Center under the direct supervision of a healthcare provider. An evaluation of therapeutic benefit is assessed at the end of the induction phase to determine the need for continued treatment. Dosing frequency is individualized to the least frequent dosing to maintain remission/response.
An additional day each week of IOP group therapy may be discussed with the therapist and implemented as clinically indicated.
Week 5+ (Maintenance Phase: Once weekly):
SPRAVATO™ is self-administered once weekly during weeks 5-8 in the maintenance phase at the Transformation Center under the direct supervision of a healthcare provider.
An additional day each week of IOP group therapy may be discussed with the therapist and implemented as clinically indicated.
Spravato™ is self-administered at our clinic due to the risks for sedation, dissociation, abuse, and misuse, SPRAVATO™ can only be administered in healthcare settings certified in the SPRAVATO™ REMS Program. Our private clinic area provides a comfortable environment for you to relax while SPRAVATO™ is administered. You will need to plan for a caregiver or family member to drive you home after taking SPRAVATO™.
SPRAVATO™ treatments begin with an Intention Setting Hour. This includes reviewing your current symptoms with a clinician and setting an intention for having a healing treatment experience. A nurse and therapist will assist you in the medication treatment process. During this time, you will be able to participate in mindfulness activities and relaxation. Additional treatment programming includes DBT skills.
