I have a passion for kindness. Sharing the gift of kindness with our clients through education is a gift that can never be taken.

Leslie Lindsey, LMSW

Leslie holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Memphis. She has dedicated more than a decade to working with both adolescents and adults with a specific focus on the treatment of trauma and stressor related disorders, anxiety, mood, substance use, and a more recent focus on eating disorders.

Leslie is the Director of Clinical Services at The Transformation Center. As a member of the management team, she oversees daily operations to include program development, evaluation, and staff and intern training in evidence based practices. She is an EMDR trained trauma therapist who provides direct client care at Transformation Center to include individual and group sessions in addition to overall supervision of client services.

Leslie holds a graduate faculty position at the University of Memphis School of Social work as an adjunct professor who currently teaches Treatment of Trauma. She has had the continued opportunity to provide clinical and research services in community based treatment settings such as residential co-occurring substance use disorder and intensive outpatient settings. She has held previous roles as the Clinical Director, Senior Clinician, and Data Manager. She has extensive experience in clinical trauma research, comprehensive program design, implementation, and evaluation.

Leslie’s career has been driven by her passion for the promotion of change through the use of evidence based practices. She believes change occurs through providing education and giving kindness to the population served. She says, “I have a passion for kindness. Sharing the gift of kindness with our clients through education is a gift that can never be taken. More often than not, those who have experienced mental health issues and trauma have, at some point in their lives, have experienced barriers related to a need for compassion and understanding.

Our clients present to us, often with a fear of judgement as a result of a significant lack of education. When I, when we, as a community, are able to educate, we help to shift the dialogue. We instill hope. We promote change. We give kindness.”
