Grace Peterson

Grace views counseling as a sacred process that involves connection, commitment, and hopefulness. Through her clinical and personal experience, she recognizes the courage it takes for people to ask for help from others. Grace approaches each person with empathetic understanding to begin sharing in daily challenges as well as trauma history, disordered eating, and/or substance abuse. Her desire is to provide a safe place for people to come, feel heard, and work as a team to achieve growth. Grace focused on education by earning her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Memphis, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Memphis. She was focused on gaining experience by engaging in clinical fieldwork related to intimate partner/domestic violence and anger management at The Kindred Place as well as mental health, trauma, and disordered eating at The Transformation Center. Through her fieldwork, she was welcomed onto the team at The Transformation Center, and she has continued to effectively integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Dialectical Behavior Therapy into practice. Grace has provided a supportive environment while developing therapeutic relationships through dedication while focusing on accountability to achieve goals. Grace is continuing to gain education by participating in supervision while working to complete her licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider.
